EMS Muscle Toning in Indianapolis

EMS, or electrical muscle stimulation, makes your muscles contract with a strength and rhythm you would struggle to reach on your own. It is a non-invasive way to work on muscle tone in the abdomen, buttocks and thighs.

What is EMS muscle toning?

Electrical muscle stimulation sends controlled electrical impulses through applicators placed on the skin, which cause the muscles underneath to contract repeatedly. Sessions are used for muscle conditioning and toning. There are no needles, no incisions and no anesthesia.

Who is EMS for?

EMS suits adults who are already close to their goals and want firmer, more defined muscle in a specific area. It is not a weight loss treatment, and it works best alongside regular exercise and good nutrition.

Pair it with a plan

Muscle you build needs to be maintained. Many patients add a Clinical Exercise Planning Consultation so the work done in the treatment room carries into the rest of the week.

FAQ

EMS Muscle Toning questions

  • What does EMS feel like?

Most people describe strong, rhythmic muscle contractions, similar to an intense workout without moving. The intensity is adjusted to your comfort during the session.

  • Will EMS help me lose weight?

No. EMS is a muscle toning treatment, not a weight loss treatment. If weight loss is your goal, ask us about our sister practice, Premier Weight Loss.

  • Who should not have EMS?

Electrical muscle stimulation is not suitable for everyone, including people who are pregnant or have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device. Your provider screens your medical history first.

  • How many EMS sessions will I need, and what does it cost?

EMS works as a series. A single session is $500, and packages of 3, 6, 12 and 20 sessions bring the price down to between $333 and $163 per session. Your provider recommends the number that fits your goal.

Individual results vary. EMS is intended for muscle conditioning and is not a weight loss treatment.
